FAVORITE ITEMS FOR NANA’S HOUSE

I knew immediately what needed to happen, as soon as my girls told me they were pregnant - at the same time! There were going to be LOTS of things I would want to keep at our house! The babies would visit, of course, but as anyone who has been mother for any length of time knows, the many accoutrements required to care for a child have changed through the years! A quick perusal online or stroll through any children’s section of a store, reveals just how much things have morphed! I had no idea there were so many options just for pacifiers! But some things stayed the same.

I never even thought about my two oldest being pregnant at the same time! WHY, I can’t imagine, it just seriously never crossed my mind, but ‘nana life’ was going to be a blast! And here we were, the items already being tallied in my head, would be a joy to compile!

Being a list maker, of course I began with the necessities, larger items, toys & books. But as I soon found as they grew (and grew quickly), I was nowhere near prepared! I had disposed of any kid items, outside of our family loved children’s books, and some OLD VHS/DVDs years ago.

Now, to be honest, I’m not one that believes you need to duplicate all the things these babies have at home. I am not about that. But I did want some basic toys, snacks & food items they like to keep on hand, along with some of the bigger items we would use through the years with multiple grandkids. Because THIS ‘Nana’ hopes more keep coming!

A highchair was a must for us!

I found it helpful to have those bigger items on hand, like a stroller, high chair, car seat and a small ‘Pack N Play’ among other staples, in case their parents forgot them at home, when dropping them off for Nana Camp! (I teased my daughter once for not leaving the stroller, but the Lord quickly reminded me of leaving my youngest with my parents for the weekend and left him NO BOTTLES)!

Have these items also just made moving these heavy items easier.

One of my favorite times of the day when my grandchildren are here, is our bath & bedtime routine. We built a custom bookshelf in the guest room/my office, for this purpose alone, and am loving curating more and more books for them. Each night they spend the night, they are encouraged to go to this shelf and pick out a couple of books to read before they go to bed.

It’s my favorite part of the day!

For now, the list grows and grows, but here are my current TOP 10 FAVORITE iTEMS :
